Staff: Mrs N Ransley BA (Hons),
MA - School Librarian
The Mount School Library, in the old carriage house,
is a calm and bright space to research and study,
catch up on the news, play a board game with your
friends, find a DVD to take home for the evening
or simply to curl up with a good book.
We have a broad collection of fiction and non-fiction
books from specialised research material
for sixth formers through to the latest information
books and picture books for the youngest Junior
girls. The collection is constantly updated, with
new titles arriving throughout the school term often
in response to suggestions from students as well
as teaching staff. The Library is arranged on 2
levels with separate Junior and Senior areas.
The Library is open from 8.15 am to 4.30 pm each
day of the term and the qualified Librarian is there
full-time to help students find the information
they need or advise on a book to read. The Junior
classes have a weekly visit with their teacher and
the incoming Year 7s have a short programme of Library
lessons to introduce them to library use and research
skills. |
