House System






The House system and its friendly competition are very much encouraged in the school. Every pupil from Reception up to Year 13 is a member of one of four houses, as well as the staff. Siblings are allocated to the same house. Mr McKay is the Head of Houses and a member of staff heads up each individual House. Each House has a House Captain from Year 6 and Year 11, as well as a Sports Captain.

Each year Houses also select a charity to support. The 2011/12 chosen charities are:
RED British Red Cross
BLUE LSCF (Laila Salehzahi Charitable Foundation)
YELLOW Womankind Worldwide
GREEN Leukaemia & lymphoma research

• House Assemblies – once per half term

• Science Challenge Week

• Spellathon

• Classics Quiz

• Mathematics Relay

• Music Competition

• Year 7 & 8 Quiz

• Geography and History Quiz

• Junior Swimming gala

• Sports Day

• Interhouse Netball, Rounders & Football

• Skipping Challenge

• House Bonding Day

Throughout the school girls are awarded House Points or Commendations, which count towards their House total. At the end of the year, the winning House is awarded the House Cup.
