The Mount School Inspection 2007
by the Independent Schools Inspectorate

The Mount School of Mill Hill has received a positive report following its inspection in the spring of 2007.  The school is successful in its aims to provide “high standards of learning experiences for all pupils” and “outstanding pastoral care”, according to the Independent Schools Inspectorate.  Particular strengths highlighted by the report included:

  • “Pupils’ attainment in GCSE is high in relation to their abilities”

  • “High standards are achieved at every stage”

  • “Relationships [between staff and pupils] are very positive and a high level of care is provided”

  • “Pupils demonstrate high levels of spiritual, moral, social and cultural development”

  • “Provision for pupils with learning difficulties or who are learning English as an additional language is strong”

  • “The range of extra-curricular activities has increased significantly”

  • “The [extra-curricular activity] programme is well organised and is considerably enjoyed by pupils”

  • “since the previous inspection…[the school] has improved significantly”

The Inspectorate was further impressed by “the multicultural aspects of the school [which] are beneficial to all pupils.”  They noted that “the pupils are happy pupils who are proud of their school.”

Following this inspection, the Mount School will move forward with its ambitious development programme, including the expansion of school facilities and investment in information technology, and further exploit assessment data to improve the individual learning experience of each pupil
